Coleford Welcomes Walkers

Monthly Walks Autumn/Winter 26/27

The Coleford Welcomes Walkers Group is offering a series of FREE monthly walks, during the last weekend of each month, to encourage people to get out and walk in the Forest of Dean.

No need to book, just turn up at the times and locations indicated below.

Please ensure that you are wearing appropriate clothing and footwear for the conditions.

If the walk has to be cancelled due to bad weather or other circumstances, there will be a message on the

Please note that the routes will have been checked for problems prior to the walk, but by agreeing to take part you accept responsibility for your own health and safety.

Mitcheldean and Wigpool Common
The walk climbs steadily out of Mitcheldean to reach the top of Wigpool Common. The
route then meanders along the ridge through the woods , passing the nature reserve and
water works. It then drops quite steeply down to return to Mitcheldean. Please bring drinks
and a snack.
